Freely and Fluidly: Ending 1 (Saying I Love You)

Everyone knew something was going on. Having two freshman high school students giggling every now and then was one thing, but having them whispering behind your back and glancing at you every now and then was another. Tomoka may do that regularly, but Sakuno didn't. And that was what struck him as odd.

They were planning something, and Kawamura didn't know if it was good or bad.

"A party?" Kawamura asked, accepting the invitation Sakuno was giving him. Tomoka was giving the other invitations to the tennis regulars. Sakuno smiled brightly at him, bringing her hands together and bowing.

"We would be so happy if you came!" Sakuno pleaded. Kawamura rubbed the back of his head, laughing awkwardly.

"O-of course! I wouldn't miss it for the world!" He said. Sakuno smiled brightly at him, before running to give her last invitation to Ryoma. Kawamura admired the invitation, looking at the balloons and the bright colours. Fuji walked over, smiling.

"Suspicious, isn't it?" His friend asked. "A party out of nowhere." Kawamura blinked, and Eiji pounced over.

"Who cares? It's a party, nya!" The acrobatic tennis player exclaimed, punching his fist into the air. " Food, party, games, surprises!" Kawamura smiled.

"I guess." His two team mates look at him, then each other.

"She'll come back." Fuji told his friend. Eiji nodded.

"Yeah, yeah. Don't worry about it Taka-san." Kawamura smiled at them both, grateful for their attempts to cheer him up.

"I know." He said.

**********

"Welcome, welcome!" Tomoka greeted, ushering everyone into the room. The party was being held at Sakuno's house, because her grandmother wanted to be there as well and it had a very large and spacious living room. Food was on the side, and the stereo was blasting music. Momoshiro and Eiji headed straight for the food, their bellies rumbling.

Everyone else decided to lounge around and have small talks. Sakuno or Tomoka went up to the second floor quite frequently, but Kawamura waved it off as needing to use the bathroom. They drank a lot of soda.

After awhile, Tomoka clapped her hands and called for attention.

"We have a surprise for you." She said, smiling brightly. Sakuno was also glowing, shuffling in one spot nervously. "I'm sure you've realized there was a reason we planned this party." Tomoka said, and everyone nodded. The loud girl gestured to her best friend, who blushed.

"W-well… if you would all direct your attention to the stairs please." And the young girl bowed. The guests did so, waiting in tension for the 'surprise'.

"It's very nice to see you all again."

There were several gasps, but no one was more overjoyed then Kawamura. The crowd waited in suspenseful silence, as the power player stood and made his way over to the shorter girl, standing at the bottom of the steps. Reaching out, he ran his hand through the brown strands, reassuring himself she was here, and safe.

"I missed you." She told him softly, smiling. He let a choked sob escape him, before tugging her body to his and crushing her with his frame. His tears wet her shirt, and soon he could feel hers doing the same to his.

"Oh Kami." He sobbed. "Thank you."

laughed softly, pulling back and cupping his face. She blinked back the rest of the tears.

"Kawamura… I've wanted to say this to you for so long."

Closing her eyes, pulled his face to hers and gave him a deep kiss.

I love you.
