On seeing, hearing and meeting Parokya ni Edgar

July 27th, 2008 | 7 Comments | Posted in Entertainment, Personal, Photolog, Winnipeg

A couple of months ago I was able to get the news that the Filipino band Parokya ni Edgar will be performing here in Winnipeg. Cheree got her tickets right away and was happy na dinamay niya ako, he he. Yesterday my friends and I were lucky to catch their show. More »

While I was in the car earlier on the way home, I took pictures. I would also like to refer to this as “shooting from the hip” but literally, it’s “shooting from the car window”, hehehe! More »

Day-off ko na ulit, finally. Well supposedly may work ako pero nakipagpalit ako nang shift. I badly need this day off. I ran some errands and then later sinundo ako nila Jaq at Ariane sa Northgate for lunch. We picked up Sybil afterwards and then we were on our way to Chinatown. More »

Jabbawockeez

July 23rd, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Personal, Photolog, Winnipeg

Last Monday I got the chance to see America’s Best Dance Crew Season 1 champs, Jabbawockeez, perform. It was an okay experience — it was my first time going to Blush with a couple of friends, so technically I don’t know what to expect. And I am somehow worried about my safety, he he. More »

Day-off at Old Spaghetti Factory

July 16th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Food, Personal, Photolog, Winnipeg

I finally got a day-off after working 13 straight days at my two jobs, so I told Joann and Sybil (wala si Lem, may lab siya because she’s taking summer courses) na labas kami for lunch. Medyo namadali yung lakad because Joann didn’t realize that there was a change in her work schedule and she just discovered that she has work on the day of our lunch. :(

Anyhow, after getting a couple of film rolls for my LC-A, I went to The Forks, met up with Sybil (Joann followed later kasi late ang bus) and then had a late lunch at The Old Spaghetti Factory. More »

Canada Day ‘08

July 3rd, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Personal, Photolog, Winnipeg

It was Canada’s birthday last Tuesday (July 1) and I had nothing else to do at home but relax (don’t blame me, I’m completing my 2-straight weeks of shift since yesterday). Since I anticipated this break, Cheree and I planned to go swimming at her place. She’ll be busy too since she got in to the Faculty of Nursing and her schedule will be hectic starting this summer.

I haven’t been to their backyard before because they just got their house not too long ago (I used to hang out at their old place, which is a 10-15 minute drive from my place). I thought it was going to rain at first because there were dark clouds when I woke up, but the sun shone eventually. More »

Bucaccino’s / The Cupcakery

June 25th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Personal, Photolog, Winnipeg

Went out today for a planned lunch date with Erica, whom I haven’t seen in months (last time was like, around November, with Julie). I figured that my birthday discount at Bucaccino’s is about to expire, so might as well use it while I have my day off.

Food is good, as usual. Had a great time hanging out with Erica and caught up with things and such. More »

Social Person

June 22nd, 2008 | 4 Comments | Posted in Personal, Winnipeg

Last week can be summed up in two words: BUSY and EXPENSIVE. I didn’t buy anything, really, it’s just that I went to two socials for two consecutive days. And Socials mean I have to pay for tickets, drinks and raffle/silent auction. But I think it’s fine though, considering that I don’t get to see my friends that much now.

Friday, I had to attend Sybil’s cousin’s social at Franco-Manitobain at Provencher. It was a huge party. Lem and Tristan went to my house first and then my dad and mom brought them at work because they need to pick me up. More »
