Convocation / Graduation 2008
I AM DONE WITH MY BACHELOR’S DEGREE, PEOPLE! YAY!
The ceremony was today, and I was accompanied with my parents, Joann and Lemarie. Joann gave me flowers. ♥ Ceremony started exactly at 3:00 although we graduands had to hang around Max Bell to get our graduation gowns and wait until the ceremony starts. My seatmate, Mr. 191, didn’t show up, instead my seatmate was Mr. 192, who has a degree in Psychology and… apparently, drama. Haha. I saw Ashley too (the girl I met at the grad ball). Lots of people wearing flip flops and jeans too. Parang regular day at school lang, he he he.
After the ceremony we had dinner at Sun Fortune restaurant, a Chinese restaurant near U of M. And I spilled Coke on my dress while eating. D:
About the grad, it’s funny because we got some guides from the student union, and during the ceremonies I spent solving those find-the-word puzzles included in there. And I got free pen with that too.

It’s confirmed! I’m marching on the 29th for my convocation! And I’m graduand number 190. Ha ha!
Senior Recap
Senior Year. My last year (hopefully!) at the university. I was planning to write this entry a day after my convocation, but I decided that that celebration deserves its own separate entry. Why are they kicking out the good old Bookman?
I just got an e-mail from The Bookman last night. The Bookman is an independent used bookseller in Winnipeg, and he sometimes sells books at the U of M. Anyway, the Bookman sent an e-mail to his patrons because the University’s Special Functions got an order to not allow the Bookman to sell books at the campus anymore because he’s seen as a competitor of the University Bookstore.
It doesn’t make any sense to me. First, the Bookman isn’t at the campus everyday. For me, I don’t think a 4-day stay within like, I dunno, a 2-month period at the campus will really hurt the U of M Bookstore’s revenue. Also, not all of the books being sold by The Bookman are available at the U of M Bookstore. I think this is the reason why some people go visit used bookstores in general — they have rare/hard-to-find books and these stuff aren’t easily available on commercial bookstores.
I’m not at the U of M this year, but I’ve been buying books from the guy. It just annoys me that this has to happen, really. 
Grad ball preparations
Three days before the ball. I’ve finally got the stuff that I need. I think I need to get my date those boutonierres (sp) (or as what Jocey calls it, “Man-flowers” LOL). Photo above shows my shoes and my accessories. I’m opting for a classy yet simple look hence I think a pair of glass pearl necklace and earrings will do the trick. I won’t post the photo of the dress yet since it will totally kill the whole thing. Haha. You know the feeling when you wear something and you feel that the dress was really made for you? Halos two weeks na
Out of 5 subjects, 4 na yung naka-upload sa online record ko sa school. Ang nakakaasar pa nito, isang buwan na lang before ng graduation ko. Hindi ko alam kung magmamartsa ba ako dahil nga ang tagal mag-release ng grade ng professor ko. Ang nakaka-badtrip pa, elective naman ‘yun at saka alam ko namang pumasa ako. At eto pa. Yung klaseng ‘yun, pinasa ko yung requirement a couple of days before my dreaded 3-consecutive day final exams. Tapos nauna pa ‘yung 3 final grades ko dun sa 3 klaseng ‘yon! Anakanaman.
Anyhow, grad ball ko sa Biyernes. Will upload photos siyempre. At saka may bago na naman akong trabaho. So at the moment, dalawa yung p/t jobs ko. Tamang-tama para makaipon ako at makapagbakasyon.
Brown Out Bowling
Tapos na exams ko! Yehey! So after ko magsulat ng test ay sinundo ako ni Jon at pumunta kaming KP with the rest of our friends (aptly called “Brown Out” kasi All-Pinoy event siya; hehe, kaso andun yung bf ng isang kaibigan namin eh di siya Pinoy, pero oki lang). May plano kasi kaming mag-bowling that day so ayun.
Anyhow yung mga “plano” naman namin ay hindi talaga natuloy. Muntik pa ngang di pa matuloy yung bowling, hehehe. Pagsundo kasi namin kila Hazel eh pinakain na kami, so na-cancel yung supposedly dinner namin sa Buffet Square. Well, libre naman yung pagkain so tipid, hehe. Napadpad pa kami sa The Forks at nakakita ng mga naka-robot costume. Hindi ko alam bakit nagganun sila. More »
Last-minute realizations
After 108 university credit hours (12 credits to go) and 4 years in university, I should say, man, I really do love to hurt myself. LOL.
Boo!
Four more exams. Currently writing my take home exam due today (to be submitted via e-mail). Nakakatamad.
