Social Person

June 22nd, 2008 Posted in Personal, Winnipeg

Last week can be summed up in two words: BUSY and EXPENSIVE. I didn’t buy anything, really, it’s just that I went to two socials for two consecutive days. And Socials mean I have to pay for tickets, drinks and raffle/silent auction. But I think it’s fine though, considering that I don’t get to see my friends that much now.

Friday, I had to attend Sybil’s cousin’s social at Franco-Manitobain at Provencher. It was a huge party. Lem and Tristan went to my house first and then my dad and mom brought them at work because they need to pick me up.

It was a fun night. Sybil’s family’s quite big. There was this group of guys who happened to be the groom’s friends back in Calgary. The guy was a Filipino, and I think he was quite drunk, when the oldies’ line dancing began. He started dancing, and he was good. It was funny because he was able to pick up the steps really fast, and then suddenly he just combined the line dancing steps with Souljaboy’s Crank That. HAHAHA. HE’S AMAZING.

We also saw Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1’s Kristoff Abrenica (the one in red jacket). He he. I find it too jologs to ask him to take a picture with us, but sooner or later my reservation will dissolve and finally give way to my ka-jologan, ha ha.

The night could have been better if only not a group of people (the bride and groom’s guests) started a fight at the entrance. The guy was hit and his head hit the wall, leaving him bleeding and unconscious. We left the place at almost 2 in the morning with paramedics still at the area. :|

Saturday, it was a weird day. There was rain on one part of the city and the rest were just cloudy, he he. I left work early. I took a nap, and then woke up just in time to fix myself for another social, this time for Tristan’s cousin/relative/family friend. Lem and Joann weren’t able to join us that night so there’s only the three of us.

The social was pretty small and intimate. I think they aimed more to “celebrate” the wedding than do a fund-raising thing. I also saw Richie there (who happens to be Ate Joyce’s friend), so ayun.

    the party looks fun!

yep. i’ve read RYU MURAKAMI’s in the miso soup. ang lufet nun, angel! i bought my own copy when i was in Malaysia, sobrang out of whim lang kase na-frustrate ako nung wala akong makitang haruki murakami book. so sabi ko, try ko itong si katukayo. it was worth it! i totally dig ryu’s psychological thriller. para kong nanonood ng movie nung binabasa ko yung book. Graphic to the nth power. I bought a copy of Almost Transparent Blue but i haven’t started it yet. Tapos bigla naman ako nakakita ng Coin Locker Babies sa FullyBooked at bigla akong na-excite, hehe.

raytss last blog post..Not seeing you doesn’t mean I don’t think about you
