Autorama World of Wheels 2008

As a way to “detox” myself after a stressful week (because of tests and other assignments), I went to the Autorama World of Wheels 2008 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. I’ve been wanting to attend a car show and take pictures of cars, so off I went since I have time after class.

I met up with Joann and Lem at the WCC and went inside a little after the start time of 5 in the afternoon. There were two floors that were used for this event — the second floor contains mainly motorcycles and a couple of eco-friendly cars. The third floor has the car displays and food stalls.

What can I say? They were amazing. I can really see that the people who own the cars are really passionate about what they’re doing. The cars were pretty, really. I don’t drive, I don’t know anything about cars, but I enjoyed going there.
One thing I noticed in that event is that it was male-dominated. It kind of gives the idea that the automobile industry is, in general, a male-dominated field. But there were some girls (like us) who were in there. Still, parents brought their kids (mostly boys) there, too. Hello socialization.

Also, imagine my surprise when Mater was there. ![]()
