No Turning Back

A goal that was accomplished right on time. I got the letter from the Citizenship and Immigrations Canada. I’ll be taking my oath of citizenship on Tuesday, 22 January. Which means in two weeks’ time, I’ll be a Canadian Citizen. There’s no turning back.

Last Term kick-off

Yesterday was the first day of Winter Term 2008. It also happens to be my (hopefully) last winter term at the University. Basically, yesterday was the start of my countdown towards graduation.

The day was pretty busy because it was also the start of the org recruitment for the second term. I had to help Joann with setting up the booth and stuff. Not surprisingly, there weren’t too many people yesterday. I guess it’s because the second term? Usually it’s more busy during September. More »

School starts tomorrow

School starts tomorrow! Last semester ko na bukas, so I’m pretty excited. Last chance to reform myself and my academic-related… stuff. Haha!

Last week of December 2007

Happy New Year! Lots of stuff happened last week, so I’ll try to digest them in one entry.

DECEMBER 22
Went to work and to a Christmas party. Kaso hindi naman lahat pumunta so apat lang kami. Make that a… Christmas dinner, I guess.

DECEMBER 26
Boxing Day. My parents got speakers for the entertainment system here at the basement, and my sister got herself a Nintendo DS with the game Phoenix Wright. Didn’t go out because I know there are a lot of people outside and I was so sleepy.

DECEMBER 28

My cousin arrived from the Philippines. My family and two of my mom’s friends joined us to pick her up. She’ll be staying here at our place. More »

2007 Watchlist: A review

Well then, another year went by and I managed to watch a lot of… uh, things. Not as many as before (using the past two/three years as a baseline), but the amount is considerable… normal, I guess. One thing’s for sure: I watched a lot of Japanese Films this year, and this is mostly because of my film class last summer. The class aroused my interest in Japanese film so after the class I watched more films, haha.

I already blogged about some of the shows I planned to watch (and finished watching, since most of them are done already), but I’ll write a blurb for some of the shows I’ve seen but never get the chance to talk about.

花盛りの君たちへ (Hanazakari no Kimitachi E)
I’m not done watching the show but this occupied my summer vacation. It’s just fanservice, with a bunch of good-looking boys in a show, but then again, I enjoyed watching it still. Discovered Ikuta Toma, and I actually like his performance there. This is why I am looking forward to him this year for his new drama. More »
