Ultraelectromagneticjam!: Music of The Eraserheads

Aaron managed to give me a copy of Ultraelectromagneticjam!: Music of The Eraserheads yesterday afternoon. Tapos ko nang pakinggan (nang paulit-ulit!) ang 17-track tribute album na ito.

Anyway. It was a good attempt to compile a tribute album to one of the most influential Filipino alternative bands ever existed in the Pinoy music industry. However, some of the artists failed to give justice to the songs. Okay, nice attempt, pero hindi lahat ay kagandahan. No, I am not comparing the original version to the new one. I believe that the artists have their own style of music, pero sometimes, it just doesn’t work. Saka kahit na-appreciate ko kahit paano ang album, I cannot help but speculate that coming up with a tribute album is just a marketing strategy.

I suck at video games

Dammit. I’ve been re-writing this entry for the third time dahil bigla na lang nagsasara ang browser ko. Anyways.

Kung pamilyar ka sa itsura nito, then you’re old, hehe. This is the photo of my first ever handheld gaming device. It’s the blue version of Super Mario Bros. Game and Watch. I never finished Level 2 because I have to admit that I suck at video/computer games.

Alam ko may Atari kami noong bata ako, pero magastos daw sa kuryente, so kahit matagal nang nakatambak sa bahay namin at di pa nagagamit ay binigay na lang ng nanay ko sa mga pinsan ko. Tapos ang kaasar pa nun, may Family Computer naman sila. Teka, naisip niyo na bang mukhang bahagi ng katawan ni Bio Robo ang FamCom? (And it’s freaking red and white! Family Crisis

My mother will be leaving Winnipeg on the 19th of November (this Saturday) and will be back on the 3rd of December. My maternal grandmother’s health is really unstable right now and my mother wants to be beside her in case anything happens. This is actually a hasty yet careful decision because we just received the news earlier this morning. I am asking for your prayers for my lola’s safe recovery.

In the meantime, let me worry about how am I suppose to manage the household while my mother is away (groceries, food, baon, laundry, etc.).

Witch Hunter Robin

Witch Hunter Robin
Witch Hunter Robin is my current anime fixation after finishing Samurai Champloo last week. This series tells the story of a 15-year old girl named Robin Sena who arrives in Japan from Italy to replace a dead hunter of a group called STN. The said group hunts down witches, but instead of killing them, they are using a substance called Orbo that weakens the power of the witches temporarily so that they can capture them and bring them to a facility called the Factory.

I have some reservations when I decided to watch this series. I find the show too dark and being a scaredy cat, I am not sure if I can handle the story. But everything went well. Witch Hunter Robin lacks the usual exaggerated expression that we usually see in a typical anime series. The plot is good, although I have some problems with the way the story unravels in each episode. More »
