And yet I will talk about gadgets again

So I am off at work for the next couple of days (including today) so I decided to do some shooting while I was on my way to my appointment today. I brought my Nikon Coolpix L11 (which I wasn’t able to use), and my Canon AE-1. I got the chance to shoot at some parts of Edmonton Downtown and I was really ecstatic. The weather was nice too, and the sun was shining brightly.

Unfortunately, while I was on my way to my destination, I didn’t realize that my AE-1′s 52mm UV Filter fell, and I only realized this while I was inside the building. I didn’t find my filter until 3 hours after while I was walking on the way back to the bus stop. Good thing it wasn’t crushed, but the surface of my filter had a chip. It’s not really noticeable, but enough for my semi-OC personality to feel bad about it.

Anyhow, I have some “work” to do on Tuesday, and because of the location, I decided to invest on a photographic equipment that I didn’t know that I will get — a speedlight. So, after careful consideration, I got myself a Nikon SB-400 speedlight (much to the uhm, shall we say, disappointment? of the sales person — he told me to get the SB-800 instead).

I haven’t really tested the flash yet, except for some couple of shots inside my dorm unit, but I am pretty impressed so far. I have a particular distaste towards flash because I love natural light, but so far my SB-400, despite of its small size, has convinced me that it will do well as my companion when I do my freelance job on Tuesday. So… let’s see about that.

… Just because I think this is obligatory, ha ha!

What if no one’s watching?

This nook is the culmination of a project that was postponed so many times after getting my first camera in 2004. I've consciously recognized my love for images and photography during that year, so, here it is. So, what if no one is watching? I scan my environment more carefully and take my time in breathing in the beauty that surrounds me, without worrying about other people's impressions or reactions. I hope you enjoy looking at my images the way I enjoyed the process of creating them.
